2011 Offshore Series
The TBYC Offshore Series consists of five separate mid-distance offshore races. One throw-out is allowed in the overall series scoring. The individual races are as follows:

Thunder Bay Triangle: This race is usually held within the bay of Thunder Bay and is typically around 25 nautical miles in length. The course can vary from year to year.

Spar Channel: The 'Spar' is so-named because the course takes racers from Thunder Bay south through Spar Channel, back to Thunder Cape along the outside of Pie Island, and from there back into Thunder Bay. Course length is 50 nautical miles.

International: One of the oldest races on Lake Superior, this race begins in Thunder Bay and terminates in Houghton, MI, USA, leaving Isle Royal to starboard. The course has been changed many times over the years but Houghton as a destination makes this variant very popular. Course length is 96 nautical miles.

Sawyers Bay: This race is from Thunder Bay to Sawyers Bay, which is situated beneath the head of the Sleeping Giant within the bay of Thunder Bay. Course length is approximately 17 nautical miles.

Silver Islet: Racers race from Silver Islet, which is located on the 'lake' side of the Sibley Peninsula, to Thunder Bay. Course length is approximately 19 nautical miles.
