2011 Women's Monday Pursuit Racing Series
This series aims to encourage participation and promote involvement of all women sailors in the area, both recreational and competitive.
A female helmsperson is required but an all-female crew is not. The helmswoman is expected to steer an entire race, however, the helmswoman can be different each race as the scores are given to the registered boat, not the driver. Boats are encouraged to include women on their crew as the purpose of this series is to gain exposure and experience among local women interested in sailing.
The main objective of this series is participation and fun. Boats are expected to race at the skill and experience level they are most comfortable with.
Protests are not heard during this series unless the situation results in significant damage or injury. In the name of fair and honest play all boats are expected to abide by the ISAF Racing Rules of sailing and the TBYC Racing Code of Conduct.
Seven races will be held throughout the season and attendance at all races is not mandatory. Refer to the TBYC Racing Schedule on the TBYC Racing web-site for specific race dates.
Races will be held concurrent with Monday Pursuit races, and will be sailed on the same course as Monday Pursuit races. Refer to the Monday and Friday Pursuit Racing page on the TBYC Racing web-site for course information and start times.
All races with one or more boats starting will be counted. If a race cannot be raced it will not be rescheduled. Scoring will be as per the low point system outlined in Appendix A4 of the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing. Boats will count their best five races in their overall score.
Race results will be recorded and managed, however, please note your own race standings to prevent possible discrepancies.
